Parasková Ester

Ester Parasková (*1993) studied at UMPRUM, first in the painting studio and then in the studio of fine art. Her work explores the boundary between painting and drawing, balancing meticulous, carefully considered execution against an expressive, gestural hand. Her canvases combine a visual language reminiscent of children's drawing, automatic writing and unmistakable traces of her own body on the canvas — not only her hand and paint, but also the imprint of the sole of her shoe. She is searching for the line between what we read as high and what we read as low. Her canvases are populated by small childlike figures, but also by references to commerce, globalisation, violence and various forms of oppression. She has presented her work in many exhibitions, in the Czech Republic and abroad. In 2025 she had a solo exhibition at Elektrohalle Rhomberg in Salzburg, and opened the following year with an exhibition at Galerie Pekelné sáně in Kroměříž.
