Perkof Natalie

Natalie Perkof (*1979) is a visual artist and designer with roots partly in Ghana and partly in Moravia. She studied painting first at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Ostrava and then at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno. She is unafraid to experiment and to use a wide range of materials. Although she works above all in classical figurative art, her large-format canvases are made with entirely unconventional techniques: she uses carbon and carbon-aramid fabrics, crystal and various wood veneers. Her portfolio also includes abstract geometric objects and reliefs, bonsai-objects and site-specific installations. Her work combines an interest in what remains hidden beneath the surface with an interest in the plainly visible situations of everyday life and in relationships between people. In recent years she has also begun working with architects, creating, for example, a large-format marquetry for the building of the Moravian winery Obelisk. In 2022 she took part in the celebrated Art Cologne fair.
