Bodzewicz Radka

Radka Bodzewicz (*1991) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, from the sculpture studio of Jindřich Zeithamml and the printmaking studio of Vladimír Kokolia. During her studies she also spent time at Robert Gordon University — Gray's School of Art in Scotland. She works mainly in large-scale oil painting, but is equally at home with new media and 3D printing. She finds her inspiration in history and prehistory. Her paintings and sculptural objects are full of motifs drawn from myth, ritual, archetypes, the collective unconscious and books such as Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy and Carl Gustav Jung's The Red Book. She also gives her paintings on canvas a parallel life in augmented reality. Her style loosely references medieval illumination and attends to the smallest detail within a large whole. Her paintings are held in many important private and institutional collections, and she has a long list of group and solo exhibitions behind her.
