How do I care for a painting, and why insure it?
Buying a work is where the care begins. It includes proper framing and hanging, insurance against damage, and keeping safe the documentation that goes with the work. Works on paper are especially sensitive — damp and direct sunlight both harm them — so they deserve good mounting behind glass. A well-cared-for collection with a documented story then sells far more easily than a work whose origin still has to be traced.
