Dejmek Petr

Petr Dejmek (*1997) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, first conservation and restoration, though he completed his studies in the painting studio under Robert Šalanda. His work is a dialogue between the physical world and virtual reality, between lived everyday experience and the intensity of an experience inside a computer game. On his canvases he examines the phenomenon of imitation, of emptied-out images and of simulacra. Computer games give him his subjects, his particular situations and a specific aesthetic. What strikes the viewer first is the precise, thoroughly accomplished hyperrealist painting. The artist often casts himself as the protagonist of the scenarios he sets in motion. In 2024 he was included in the Young Selection at Prague Art Week.
